Enterprise IT teams can now automatically create, analyze, apply PSF fixes, and validate MSIX packages based on enhanced capability with a new Rimo3 and TMEditX joint solution offering. Automated MSIX application package creation, remediation and validation via unattended workflow automation is now possible. Rimo3 has partnered with TMeditX, created by Tim Mangan, TMurgent Technologies. This joint solution offering empowers enterprise application packagers with quick, efficient options for MSIX edits, analysis, and fixups for better success rates in high fidelity MSIX package creation.

The automated MSIX application package analysis and PSF fixups features are available today in the Rimo3 Package360 solution.

Rimo3 automated MSIX assessment and conversion automates package creation

Automated conversion results help enterprise application packaging teams see the details of the package creation.

Traditional application packaging is a slow, manual process that requires a specific human skillset that’s becoming harder to hire and retain.

In the past, application package editing required a human to take on the many steps of application packaging:

  • troubleshoot the package issues
  • identify which fix could resolve the issues
  • apply the fix without compromising the application package
  • test and validate the package post remediation

This process was repeated with every package that needed attention – a time consuming and painful process.

Creating an application package is just one of many steps that go into deploying applications in an enterprise environment. With so many applications, so few packaging resources, and so much pressure to modernize, enterprises application teams need a better way to modernize application packaging.

Testing application packages is automated with Rimo3 Validate360 testing the new package before deployment.

Understand exactly why an application package failed and what remediation steps are needed.

Automate Application Package Editing to Save Time and Work

Today enterprises need to quickly identify issues, manage application package editing – and be confident in the results.  Rimo3 Package360 and automated application package editing simplifies the process of package creation:

  • automatically assess the application package based on the Rimo3 Discover360 results that understand the data constructs and their expected intended behavior
  • leverage automated intelligence to make an informed decision about the correct fix to address the issues with TMEditX
  • apply the fix automatically with TMXEdit integrated into Rimo3 Package360
  • validate the package’s success in the desired cloud, virtual, or physical environment via Rimo3 Validate360
  • deploy the package.
  • patch the application when new versions are released with Rimo3 Patch360

With Rimo3 and TMEditX, application packagers can have automated MSIX issues analysis. This means you can automatically analyze the MSIX to determine what is an issue and how it can be fixed.

After the MSIX package analysis, TMEditX identifies what fixes can resolve the issues and applies them automatically to the application package.

With Rimo3 automated MSIX application packaging, assessment, PSF fixup, post fix up validation, and patching capabilities enterprises can save weeks or months of work, rework, and mitigate potential application downtime. Rimo3 provides application management for new and existing applications, migrations, and ongoing operational lifecycle management.

The out of the box automated workflows provided by Rimo3 were designed from inception to execute at scale. Whether packaging 100 or 1000 apps, automated packaging is only bound by compute and can run 24/7 - a stark contrast to traditional manual efforts that are limited by human bandwidth and work schedules.

Application package validation is the final insurance policy to make sure the application is successful in the desired environment.

Automated package editing can accelerate the application delivery process, helping IT teams deliver critical applications to end users and maximizing the investment in expensive business applications and modern delivery mechanisms.

How Automated Application Packaging FixUp Works

Rimo3 has partnered with TMurgent Technologies to simplify application package editing by including TMEditX in the Rimo3 Workspace360 platform.

Replacing the need for PsfTooling, TMEditX provides MSIX issue analysis and ability to inject and configure the PSF into the package, but also can solve issues not currently addressed by the Microsoft MSIX Packaging Tool.  Allowing you to convert once, it automates the issue analysis and applies the fixes applications need. Ultimately allowing to remediate without having to reconvert from scratch.

After analyzing and applying automated fixups, full editing capabilities are provided to apply to package properties, capability settings, registry and files.

Packages can be saved as MSIX or for app attach as VHD, VHDX, or CIMfs formats to support Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop deployments.

The result is "high-fidelity" packages that can be easily edited, saving significant time when you discover the need to make changes as you test your new package.

Enterprises can eliminate separate third-party tools that only provide limited package capabilities.

After the TMEditX automated remediation, Rimo3 Validate360 assesses the new application package against your customized environments and shows the error is now resolved.

Why CIOs Care About Automated Application Package Editing

Employee efficiency is top of mind for CIOs. Faster delivery of reliable, validated application packages serves end users who need business-critical applications, but also saves busy IT teams time, effort, and project delays.

Rimo3 continues to innovate application management so that enterprise IT teams can know the impact of change before the change is made. Confidence in new technology adoption increases, and more work can be completed in limited time constraints.

Application packaging has often been an under the radar – but vital – segment of the IT team, and overall application lifecycle management process. It’s time to automate the mundane tasks like package editing. Find more time for complex application troubleshooting and tackling strategic initiatives.
